Brief: To create an interactive digital sign solution that could be accessed by able-bodied and disabled customers to enable
effective communication and promotion of the shopping centre. The signs were required to reflect the nature and design of the
listed building within which they would be situated.
We were approached to provide an interactive digital sign solution for the shopping centre in Newark upon Thames,
the Buttermarket Centre. This project was particularly interesting as we had to provide bespoke surrounds to the screens
to reflect the nature of the listed building in which they would be situated. Coupled with this our proposal had to be
sympathetic to DDA and also provide the user with a flexible and scalable solution.

We initially provided and developed the designs for the surrounds choosing features of the building to incorporate in the
fabricated structures. The surrounds needed to provide a secure and robust housing whilst promoting a sympathetic approach.
We designed two housings, providing a solution to both able bodied and disabled users. The free standing units incorporate 42"
plasma displays with touch screen overlays, on board digital sign players and speakers.
The interactive solution that was required was designed in house by our design team, taking the brief from the client and
creating initial story boards for comment. Our client was able to visualise how each page and interactive element would
transition, and through regular consultation and previews at our showroom we provided them with a graphically stunning solution.
Installation and on site commissioning was completed by our experienced team and with liaison with the clients own IT
department we placed the system on their own existing network.
Finally we trained our client in the use of the software and they are now uploading content and maintaining the system themselves.

Brief: To develop an interactive digital sign solution that allows information to be accessed regarding the development and local information directly after parking your car.
The design was required to fit with the current site fixtures and be suitable for all weather.
We were approached by our digital sign software partner Nexus to develop a bespoke installation for Brindleyplace in Birmingham, a mixed
leisure and retail development in the heart of Birmingham's entertainment quarter.
The client was looking for a stylish yet robust free standing solution at the exit from the main car park into the development; as such this
installation would receive high volumes of usage.
We designed a bespoke surround that was in keeping with the site fixtures in material terms yet was robust and secure. The sign also made
provision for the fact that the screen is in a slightly exposed position and may be subject to the elements.
The unit incorporates a 42" in display running a passive application. We integrated the system onto the schemes existing network and together
with Nexus provided a solution that the client updates on a regular basis managed on site from their own facility.

Brief: To develop a passenger information system which would provide the customer with local travel information in its standard mode, while allowing
the management team the opportunity to communicate up to date travel news and emergency procedures and live TV News when appropriate.
An NMstage digital signage service was introduced into the Japanese Railway System in April 2007. 50” plasma screens were installed in front of
the ticket gates in the main stations in and around the Tokyo area.
The system allowed for local maps and information to be displayed in standard mode, which could be interrupted with travel information when there
were delays or problems on the lines.
In the case of large scale disaster, emergency procedures and live TV News could be fed through to advise the customers of latest information.
NMstage digital signage service started from Apr. 2007.
50” plasmas were installed in front of ticket gates of JR’s (Japan Railroad’s) main stations around Tokyo area.
When there is traffic trouble, traffic information will be displayed on plasma via distribution server by using
normal schedule interruption function in NMstage. In case of large scale disaster (such as magnitude5 earth quake),
live stream distribution of NHK (one of largest news station in Japan) news will be sent from control room by using
intranet (multicast network).
Installed stations: As of April 2007. 19 stations, 114 Plasmas. Roll out plan is until 2008.
Brief: To design an effective digital solution which provided the visitor with access to a tenant directory,
promoted marketing activities and ran a live news feed, in order to inform and entertain guests to the building.
We have provided numerous digital sign solutions for commercial property throughout the UK and the project for Quayside Tower
is typical of the requirements of a project of this nature. Our client required us to provide a visually stunning installation
whilst enabling the user to update content easily, as well as giving the audience something that provided a level of interest.
With the above brief in mind we specified a 65" plasma display together with one of our feature bespoke surrounds. The surround
was branded with the building's identity and incorporated LED halo rear illumination to add a visually appealing element that
tied in with the existing lighting in the scheme.
The content was designed around three main elements. Firstly that it needed to act as a tenant directory, secondly that it needed
to display marketing information and thirdly a Live TV news channel was to be displayed. All of these elements can easily be
integrated using our digital sign software.
We provided the client with screen shot proofs and worked with their marketing team to utilise images of the property. We arranged
for the installation of the TV aerial on the roof of the building as well as the data cabling and power cabling. This was a particularly
challenging installation due to the huge lengths of cable runs and the requirement to boost the signals. We did this by using a signal
booster for the aerial and by using VGA with audio extenders for the content. We provided a secure housing for the digital sign player
and remote access for uploads through a broadband connection.
In this case we offered our client management of the sign and we complete regular content uploads for them.

Brief: To create a local informative presence by providing up to date financial information to commuters and tourists as they
drive or walk past the building. Information was required to be up to date, clearly visible from a range of distances and withstand all weather.
In 2004, Reuters set out to make their Canary Wharf HQ location in London a landmark building by creating a local informative presence.
Their brief was to have a visible external ticker that could display live financial market data and span the whole corner of the Reuters
building a full 101m in length.
Daktronics custom made a curved Galaxy ticker display with a monochrome appearance. Due to a the distance from the viewer to the display,
a 46mm pixel pitch product was used to enabled commuters and tourists to view the application from afar. The information displayed is
obtained from Reuters Omnivex live feed, using a specially created Daktronics link.
Benefits to the client were:
- Timely brief comprehension and product proposal
- Practical live feed software integration
- Flexible design
- Cost effective total installation solution
- Sound on-site operator training
- Support throughout the life of the display
- Unparalleled product quality and service
- Valuable local support network

Brief: To create an eye-catching and informative display, incorporating a live digital signage solution to attract potential clients and promote the company.
Leisure Industry Week is the ultimate event for anyone involved in or within the leisure industry. It is where leading suppliers showcase their products
and services and thousands of key decision makers and buyers from all leisure industry sectors make their purchasing decisions
In 2007, Concept decided to showcase the different facility management solutions offered by both digital and bespoke signage and how they could impact the
leisure industry at the Leisure Industry week exhibition.
The key message to get across was that Concept offer a total signage solution from design through to installation, as well as to showcase the benefits of
digital and bespoke signage to both the consumers and managers of leisure sites.
In order to offer maximum impact, a 3 sided 2.3m sign was created, with each side providing a different message:
- Introducing the company
- Presenting the different areas and industries we currently work within
- Demonstrating a digital sign system in action
The display attracted many visitors and resulted in many general and sales enquiries, which were followed up by the main sales office.

Brief: To make the most of a prime advertising location within central London by providing a digital sign solution which could display eye-catching promotions to passers by.
The content was required to be easy to update and schedule to meet both company and consumer requirements.
McDonalds hold prime advertising space in Piccadilly Circus, London. In order to maximise the impact to consumers both walking past and driving past they
wanted a large digital sign which enabled them to promote offers at scheduled times and provide them with the opportunity to change their promotions at the touch of a button.
Daktronics installed a 5.8m x 12.4m ProStar outdoor large-format display which was capable of displaying outstanding live and pre-recorded video and high impact graphic images.
The software can be updated both remotely and by local operation which enables them to have complete control over this high impact and ever changing advertising medium.

Brief: To create a digital sign solution that enabled effective communication of the local authority leisure centre to a wide
and fragmented audience in order for it to maintain a competitive advantage within the leisure industry.
Competition in the leisure industry is continually increasing as more and more companies enter the market to take advantage of an
ever increasing health conscious society. Council run leisure centres are therefore under pressure to keep up with the offerings
from private health clubs and need to continually strive to provide added value for customers.
The use of a comprehensive digital signage solution was required at the Dolphin Centre to bring the centre into the 21st century
with a communication tool that would target the centre’s eclectic mix of audiences, from the casual swimmers to the regular gym
users, right through to those booking the new conference facilities.
The software has the facility for the actual display screen to be divided, which allows for up to five main sections and two scrolling
screen tickers to be created within the main screen. The Dolphin Centre has taken advantage of this facility and provides a continually
changing programme of content from all types of sources, which has allowed the network to cross-sell services to existing customers and
has featured the real benefits of using the centre to the people of Darlington.

Brief: To enhance their visitors experience by providing entertainment, information and promotions to their Stadium audience.
Southampton Football Club wanted to take advantage of the captive audience that were seated in their 33,000 crowd capacity stadium.
They wanted the capability to entertain the audience before, after the game and at half time by providing them with coverage of other
fixtures, advertising products and promoting future games and events. During the game they wanted to provide the crowd with game
information, live coverage and re-plays of key events.
Daktronics installed a 4.4m x 7.7m ProStar outdoor large-format display, which was capable of displaying and managing all their
requirements as well as offering the additional options of increasing revenue and providing the audience with additional information
such as local weather and travel information.
The display placed within the stadium above the seating area delivers outstanding live and pre-recorded video and high impact graphic images.
The software can be updated both remotely and by local operation which enables them to have complete control over this high impact and ever changing communication medium.
