Thousands of people use airports, trains, buses and the underground each day. Digital signage can help make travelling a stress-free,
more enjoyable experience as well as being a highly targeted advertising medium.
Provide up to date information about your services as well as informing them about the local area.
Digital signs can display accurate real time information such as expected waiting times for trains, last minute changes to schedules,
urgent messages, platform or gate alterations and general station information.
Inform your customers about local businesses, restaurants and the local area. This also gives you the opportunity to instantly increase
your revenue through advertising. Combine this with an interactive touch screen and deliver what they need to know, in an enjoyable way.
Promote your services and recommend product choices.
As well as travel information, use our signs to promote travel offers, season tickets or recommended restaurants at your station or airport.
Schedule promotional messages to appear at specific times of day to ensure the right customers are targeted at the right time.
Reduce queues by allowing your customers to find out information and purchase tickets themselves.
Reduce waiting times for your customers. Our digital signs can be used as interactive kiosks to enable customers to view a selection of tickets
and prices, search for stations and purchase or collect their tickets for the day.
Reduce queues and check-in times by allowing “self check-in” for those with less luggage.
Effectively train your staff by providing clear information and procedures.
Our digital signs can also be used in staff rooms to assist in the training and informing of staff. Display employee bulletins,
health and safety information, targets and new procedures.
Brief: To develop a passenger information system which would provide the customer with local travel information in its standard mode, while allowing
the management team the opportunity to communicate up to date travel news and emergency procedures and live TV News when appropriate.
An NMstage digital signage service was introduced into the Japanese Railway System in April 2007. 50” plasma screens were installed in front of
the ticket gates in the main stations in and around the Tokyo area.
The system allowed for local maps and information to be displayed in standard mode, which could be interrupted with travel information when there
were delays or problems on the lines.
In the case of large scale disaster, emergency procedures and live TV News could be fed through to advise the customers of latest information.
NMstage digital signage service started from Apr. 2007.
50” plasmas were installed in front of ticket gates of JR’s (Japan Railroad’s) main stations around Tokyo area.
When there is traffic trouble, traffic information will be displayed on plasma via distribution server by using
normal schedule interruption function in NMstage. In case of large scale disaster (such as magnitude5 earth quake),
live stream distribution of NHK (one of largest news station in Japan) news will be sent from control room by using
intranet (multicast network).
Installed stations: As of April 2007. 19 stations, 114 Plasmas. Roll out plan is until 2008.
